Münster: The exceptional sire Cornet Obolensky is still high in demand. 36 youngsters from the Zhashkiv Stud in the Ukraine were for sale at the Westphalian Online Auction. Almost all of them can be traced back to the successful gray stallion. At an average price of 10,632 euros, 34 of the horses on offer changed hands. The direct sons of Cornet Obolensky were particularly popular. Chuck Norris with the head number 27 became the top-priced horse with a hammer price of 29,000 Euros.

For the fifth time, the Westphalian Studbook auctioned off youngsters of the Zhashkiv Stud in the Ukraine in an online auction. The Zhashkiv stud is the owner of the legendary show jumping sire Cornet Obolensky and his son Comme il faut NRW. The young talents were born and raised at the stud in Ukraine. 36 young horses for future tasks in the show jumping ring were for sale this evening. Almost all of them carry the successful gray stallion in their pedigree. 24 are direct descendants of Marco Kutscher's successful horse. 95 percent of the horses on offer changed hands at an average price of 10,632 euros. 15 will travel to Germany for further training, around half will remain in the Ukraine. In total, the Westphalian Studbook turned over 361,500 euros with this auction.

The direct sons of Cornet Obolensky were particularly popular with the international customers. The interested parties had to wait some time for the top price on the screens. With the head number 27, Chuck Norris advanced to the top price. He was bred out of the Verb.Pr.St. Colini Tachor by Heartbreaker. She is also the dam of the Cornet Obolensky son Cornet Cristo, who is successful in international show jumping competitions. Chuck Norris was knocked down to Ukraine for 29,000 euros. Two other direct sons of Cornet Obolensky also aroused high desires of international customers. At the top price of 24,500 euros, both gray stallions will remain in the Ukraine. First to crack the 20,000 euro mark was head number 3, Checkpoint. His dam Verb.Pr.St. Diamond by Diarado is a half-sister to the sire Conthargos. The two-year-old gray stallion is a horse with all the potential for higher tasks in the show jumping ring. With the head number 6, Campus also cost 24,000 Euros. His dam, Verb.Pr.St. Bernadette by Cassini I, is a half-sister to three internationally successful show jumpers. All three horses became the property of a loyal customer of the Zhashkiv Stud.

The most popular young mare in the auction lot bears the head number 4. Chianty is a daughter of Contendro I. The gray mare carries the blood of Cornet Obolensky on her dam's side. Her dam Kudernitsa is a direct daughter of the gray stallion. At the hammer price of 18,000 euros, she will make the journey to Switzerland. A daughter of Cornet Obolensky/Casiro also aroused high desires. Cornet's Caluna was sold with the head number 1. She descents from the performance line of the licensed stallions Castelan I and II, who were highly successful with Marco Kutscher. She will remain in the Ukraine for the hammer price of 13,000 Euros.
